Overview
Duration: 11 Nights
Distance: 133 KM
Base Price: From €964.00
This 11-night Lucca to Siena pilgrimage offers an immersive journey through Tuscany at an easier, more relaxed daily pace. Covering the same distance as our classic itinerary, this version spreads several longer stages over two days, making it ideal for walkers who enjoy time for photos, gelato stops, long lunches, and slow-travel culture.
After a bonus day exploring Lucca’s walls, towers, gardens, and Romanesque architecture, pilgrims follow the Via Francigena south through Altopascio, Fucecchio, San Miniato, Gambassi Terme, San Gimignano, Colle di Val d’Elsa, Monteriggioni, and onward to Siena. Distances are comfortable, and each arrival allows time to explore medieval streets, artisan workshops, cathedrals, and unforgettable sunset viewpoints.
This itinerary includes professional guides, van support, luggage transfers, breakfasts, dinners, trail snacks, and carefully selected lodgings. Your guides bring the route to life through local history, nature, cuisine, and the centuries-old stories of the Francigena pilgrims who walked before you.
The pilgrimage ends with a bonus day in Siena for museums, the Gothic Duomo complex, markets, or a quiet coffee in Piazza del Campo. It’s a beautiful, restorative way to walk Tuscany — especially for pilgrims who prefer shorter days on the trail.
For those who enjoy a fuller day’s hike, a second option is available: our 9-night classic-pace itinerary, covering the same distance with longer walking stages. But if you like time to breathe, taste, explore, and savor Tuscany step by step, the gentle-pace version is your perfect match.
